Application: Grocery application

Lakatos machines recommended for the manufacture of grocery packaging are TC and TCM (when they are packings with holes.).

TC is an automatic line: it molds and cuts on the same station, stacks and takes the packing pile counted on a conveyor belt. TCM machines mold, drill, cut, stack and also take the packing pile counted on a conveyor belt.

The grocery packages are made of PET usually between 0,2 and 0,6 mm thick. The most common are the grape (clamshell 190 x 115 mm), strawberry (clamshell 180x 120 mm opened) and Roma tomatoes (clamshell 90 x 90 mm closed).

The manufacture of these packages demands the following technologies offered by Lakatos machines:

- Floating knife
- Steel-rule knife cutting - less cost of the mold compared with punched cut machines.
- Pressure forming that guarantees highspeed and more precise definition in the molded parts
- 3D stamp tool

Strawberry packing: 4 cavities mold and production capacity of 7.600 packs per hour.
